Renée’s love affair with music began during nap time at the age of 3 when singing into a skipping rope seemed far more exciting than an afternoon sleep.
After moving on to the bathroom (for the acoustics), she began performing her own music in front of her church at the age of 15, often pasting her music into music books of other artists in the hope of remaining anonymous as a song writer.
Renée started studying classical piano at the age of 8 and has since picked up the guitar. The last 6 years has seen her focus on the craft of song writing, developing her own style and refining the message of hope that she longs to share with her audience
Renée believes that God has called her to share her journey of faith, the ups, the downs, the lessons and the joy that comes from being surrendered to the love of Jesus Christ.
Her music speaks of her struggles, her questions and her experience so far. Her lyrics are disarmingly honest, the melodies fresh and just a little quirky. Every song is a window into her life and her sense of fun.
“It sounds cliché, but God really does love every one…not only that…he has a plan and purpose for our lives that is more than we can ask or imagine, if we will accept his gift of salvation and surrender our lives to those plans.”
Renée is married to Garth, who travels with her as roadie, soundie, rock and friend. They attend The Wave, located in Ocean Grove, Victoria, Australia where Renée leads worship and plays keys and Garth is on the Sound Team.
Renee sang and spoke at our second annual “Women’s Dinner” in front of almost 50 people of varying ages with about one third being non Christians and having no church connection. Everyone I talked to afterwards spoke highly of Renee and connected with her and what she said in some significant way, whether it be the things she shared about her own life and God’s work in it or the music and words of her songs. Many were keen to stay in contact with Renee and buy a CD when it comes out. Renee also “happened” to come at a time of some conflict in our church and provided some healing and perspective through her ministry. I have known and worked with Renee for a number of years now in all sorts of settings and always find Renee to be humble, sensitive to the occasion and audience, and able to connect with a broad group of people and minister in significant ways to those gathered.
